Ontology-Aware Multi-Agent Framework for Traceable Construction Inspection

Construction inspectors must navigate across multiple drawing sheets to locate components and retrieve their governing references. This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and lacks reliable traceability between components, inspection criteria, and photo evidence. This study proposes an ontology-aware multi-agent framework for traceable construction inspection. A shared inspection ontology acts as an active control layer, governing four agents. Agent 1 extracts geometry and semantics from drawings and resolves cross-sheet references. Agent 2 matches checklist items to specification clauses. Agent 3 integrates these outputs and links each component to its inspection references (checklists, specifications, and detail drawings) for preliminary inspection via an interactive supervision platform. Agent 4 reviews completed inspection logs, validates results, assesses evidence quality, and recommends corrective actions where needed.
